He highlighted the party's clean track record rooted in welfare and social justice ideologies. Akand also discussed Governor Ademola Adeleke's emergence as the party's gubernatorial candidate following the party's primary election on December 10, 2025.

He mentioned the party's efforts to intensify public engagement and voter awareness through grassroots mobilization. Akand dismissed claims of internal crisis within the party and assured members of full compliance with electoral requirements.

The party's chairman also revealed details of the party's gubernatorial candidate being uploaded to the Independent National Electoral Commission's portal. The Accord Party, formerly known as the League of Veteran Journalists, has grown in influence in Osun State, with a focus on remaining a critical stakeholder in the state.
