Power Outage in Abuja Due to TCN Maintenance Work

On September 3, parts of Abuja are facing a power outage as a result of planned maintenance work by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) at the Kubwa Transmission Substation. A public announcement made on the same day informed customers that the outage was essential for TCN’s technical team to safely conduct critical work at the facility.

This maintenance is part of TCN’s broader efforts to upgrade its network and improve reliability. The outage is impacting various communities and commercial areas within Abuja and its surroundings, including Lower Usuma Dam, Dutse Alhaji, parts of Karasana, Arab Road, Red Bricks, Mopoi Barracks, Dei-Dei, Dei-Dei Building Materials Market, and parts of Jiwa.

The notice also indicated that surrounding communities within the network would be affected.
