Abduction of Retired Major General R. Abubakar Condemned

The non-governmental organization Prayer and Support for Nigerian Armed Forces (PSNAFOSA) condemned the abduction of retired Major General R. Abubakar and his wife while traveling in Katsina State, specifically in the Matazu Local Government Area.

The incident reportedly occurred when their driver escaped an attack, sustaining gunshot injuries. The vehicle, a red Peugeot 406, was later found parked in Matazu.

Ambassador Mari Abayomi Fatil, representing PSNAFOSA, called on the federal government and security agencies to intensify efforts for the immediate and unconditional release of the retired military officer's wife. Fatil expressed concern over the trauma inflicted on the victim and highlighted the ongoing insecurity affecting various parts of Nigeria, including recent abductions of schoolchildren in Oyo State.

She urged the government to deploy necessary resources to ensure safe rescues and emphasized the importance of peace and security in the nation.
