Presco Plc Rewards Shareholders With ₦10 Interim Dividend on Strong H1 Performance

Presco Plc declared an interim dividend of ₦10 for each 50 kobo share during H1 2026, returning capital to shareholders as the company delivered strong financial performance in the first half. On July 29, 2026, the Lagos-listed firm made this announcement, which came shortly after unveiling its unaudited results covering the period to June 30.

The company's bottom line strengthened significantly during the six-month stretch. Profit before tax reached ₦122.2 billion, up from ₦111.9 billion in the corresponding prior-year period—representing growth of 9.3 percent year-over-year.

Notably, this expansion in profitability took place even as revenue stayed relatively unchanged at ₦198.8 billion versus ₦198.7 billion in the previous comparable half. The main driver of improved earnings was a sharp 31.9 percent drop in finance costs, reflecting stronger management of the company's debt obligations.

Presco also generated earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation totalling ₦123.1 billion, which equated to a 61.9 percent margin relative to revenue. The company's statement of financial position showed meaningful improvement across key metrics.

Liabilities fell sharply, declining 42.5 percent to ₦277.8 billion, whereas shareholders' equity climbed by 13.8 percent to ₦503.6 billion. Retained earnings—the accumulated profits carried forward—jumped 34.0 percent to reach ₦258.4 billion, reinforcing the company's capacity to fund ongoing activities and future shareholder distributions.

Eligibility for the dividend applies to shareholders registered in the Members' Register at the end of trading on Friday, August 14, 2026. From August 17 until August 21, 2026, the register will be unavailable.

Distribution to qualifying holders is set for Thursday, August 27, 2026. The dividend announcement remains contingent on applicable withholding levies and ultimate approval from shareholders.
