Presidency Rejects Obi's Resignation Call for Tinubu

The presidency of Nigeria has dismissed former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi's call for the resignation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing the demand as a hollow and unnecessary distraction from the government's priorities. Presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga characterized Obi's remarks as political grandstanding, emphasizing that Tinubu did not inherit a perfect nation but has made significant progress in addressing security challenges since taking office.

Onanuga highlighted successful security operations, particularly in the North East and North West regions, including high-profile rescues in Borno State. He rejected Obi's assertion that Nigeria is in its worst condition, arguing that economic indicators tell a different story.

Onanuga pointed to Tinubu's administration's efforts in infrastructure development, such as the construction of roads expected to last 100 years, and improvements in power supply and economic recovery. He criticized Obi for misrepresenting Tinubu's campaign promises and insisted that the administration remains focused on solving Nigeria's challenges.
