Obi Demands Tinubu's Resignation Over Corruption Claims

Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State and a member of the Nigerian Democratic Congress, has called for President Bola Tinubu's resignation due to allegations of "grand corruption" within the current administration. Obi's demand follows concerns raised about an N8.83 trillion expenditure for the 2025 fiscal year, which he claims does not reflect the approved federal budget.

He stated that this expenditure, as revealed in a report by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), represents a grave violation of public finance management principles and raises serious concerns about government transparency. Obi emphasized that this amount exceeds critical allocations for education and health combined, arguing that the funds should be properly utilized to transform Nigeria's economy and improve the lives of millions.

He warned that the alleged financial mismanagement is part of a recurring pattern of corruption that threatens national stability and security. Obi reiterated his call for greater accountability from the government, insisting that the current administration's actions pose a severe threat to Nigeria's future.
