Presidency to Act on Minister's Certificate Forgery Scandal

The Presidency has responded to the alleged certificate forgery scandal involving the Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation, stating that immediate action will be taken once the court delivers its verdict. The controversy deepened after the University of Nigeria, Nsukka disowned the minister's Bachelor of Science degree certificate.

The institution confirmed that the minister admitted to studying in 1981 but never completed the program. Despite the delay in obtaining the degree certificate, the minister insists he graduated in 1985, citing a previous letter from the university.

Civil society organizations and opposition politicians continue to demand accountability from the minister pending the conclusion of the case.
