Nigerian Presidency Reports Progress in Insecurity Fight

The Nigerian presidency, through spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, announced that the government is making steady progress in the fight against insecurity. The statement emphasized recent military operations across the country as evidence of this progress.

Notable achievements include the rescue of 13 passengers abducted along the Makurdi-Otukpo road in Benue State and the arrest of criminal suspects. The operations also led to the recovery of arms and ammunition and the neutralization of terrorist and bandit threats.

In Plateau State, troops arrested suspects linked to recent militia attacks and recovered weapons. In the northeast, operations repelled terrorist incursions in Borno and Yobe states.

Additionally, in Sokoto State, soldiers repelled an attack and in Kogi State, a suspected terrorist camp was destroyed. The presidency acknowledged the challenges faced but called for Nigerian support to bolster troop morale and sustain the fight against insecurity.
