Tinubu Commemorates Buhari's Legacy on First Anniversary

On the first anniversary of former President Muhammadu Buhari's death, President Bola Tinubu led a prayer session in Abuja, where he praised Buhari as a distinguished figure in Nigeria's history. Tinubu urged political leaders and public officials to emulate Buhari's values of honesty, simplicity, and self-discipline.

He described Buhari as a patriot whose service left a lasting imprint on the nation's conscience. Tinubu noted that despite the pressures and controversies surrounding high office, Buhari maintained the trust of ordinary Nigerians.

The event included remarks from Vice President Kashim Shettima and former head of state Yakubu Gowon, who reflected on Buhari's legacy. Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State emphasized that the tribute was not merely a remembrance but a reflection on Buhari's virtuous life.

The gathering also featured prayers led by religious leaders, including Archbishop Emeritus John Cardinal Onaiyekan and Imam Sheikh Abdulkadir Al Salman Sholagberu, to honor Buhari's memory and legacy.
