President Tinubu Celebrates Dr Oshin's 100th Birthday

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu issued a congratulatory message on Thursday, celebrating the centenary birthday of Dr Oshin, who is recognized as the father of physiotherapy in Nigeria and a pioneer in Africa. The message, conveyed by his Spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, acknowledged Dr Oshin's lifelong dedication to advocacy, teaching, and professional leadership, which established standards for physiotherapy education and practice.

President Tinubu praised Dr Oshin for transforming physiotherapy into a respected university-level profession and for his foundational role in modern physiotherapy education in Nigeria. He noted Dr Oshin's significant contributions to the health sector, including co-founding the Nigeria Society of Physiotherapy in 1959 with Chief C.A.

Ajao, documenting Oja Palsy, and designing innovative rehabilitation equipment. The President also recognized Dr Oshin's philanthropic efforts, such as donating rehabilitation equipment, providing scholarships, and supporting educational institutions.

He joined Dr Oshin's family, friends, and the medical community in celebrating this milestone and expressed gratitude for his enduring service to the nation.
