President Tinubu to Inaugurate Renovated National Theatre in Lagos Tomorrow

President Bola Tinubu is set to inaugurate the newly renovated National Arts Theatre in Lagos, now named Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts, on October 1, 2025. The extensive facelift was funded by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Bankers' Committee.

The renaming honors Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka. The renovation project, overseen by the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy, aims to revitalize Nigeria's cultural infrastructure.

The reopening ceremony will coincide with Nigeria's 65th Independence Anniversary and is expected to host dignitaries from various sectors. This initiative signifies a significant investment in Nigeria's creative industry and cultural heritage.
