Presidential Aide Launches Summit for Traditional Leaders to Strengthen Peace and Governance

Abba Tijjani Hashim, a senior special assistant to the President, announced the launch of the National Traditional Leaders’ Summit aimed at empowering traditional rulers to play active roles in sustaining peace and supporting democratic governance in Nigeria. The summit, reflecting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's commitment to inclusive governance, will engage 350 traditional leaders across Nigeria in conflict prevention, resolution, and promoting collaboration between traditional and formal justice systems.

The initiative seeks to establish traditional mediation centers nationwide for quick dispute resolution and citizen dialogue.
