Cooking Gas Prices Soar in Nigeria Amid Supply Disruptions

The price of cooking gas in Nigeria has surged to ₦25,000 per 12.5kg cylinder due to recent disruptions in the supply chain. The Nigerian Association of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Marketers attributes the sharp increase to a strike by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria.

This has led to several gas plants shutting down, causing scarcity and forcing consumers to search for gas at different stations. Aliko Dangote's announcement of increased LPG production aims to address the energy poverty in Nigeria.
