Retail Price of LPG in Nigeria Drops to 1,000 Naira per Kilogram Amid Improved Supply Chain

The retail price of LPG in Nigeria has decreased to an average of 1,000 Naira per kilogram, compared to 1,080 Naira the previous week. This drop is due to improved supply chain logistics and enhanced domestic LPG distribution, which have reduced transport bottlenecks and increased efficiency in delivery systems across major cities and rural areas.

The Nigerian government, through the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), has scaled up local gas production to reduce dependence on imports, thereby lowering overall costs. The stable foreign exchange rate, particularly the stable Naira exchange rate in recent weeks, has made LPG imports more affordable, especially for suppliers sourcing gas externally.

Recent government policies, including the suspension of certain import duties on gas-related equipment, have helped reduce import costs, fostering market competitiveness and driving prices down to attract more customers.
