Cooking Gas Prices Drop in Nigeria Amid Improved Supply

The price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in Nigeria has decreased as supply has improved across the country, following a period of scarcity in September 2025. Consumers are now able to purchase cooking gas within the range of N1,050 to N1,400, a significant improvement from the previous year's prices.

Ayobami Olarinoy of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers noted that the LPG market has become more stable with increased supply reaching outlets in Apapa, Lagos. Retail prices currently range from N1,300 to N1,400 per kilogram.

This drop in prices is expected to promote clean cooking and reduce reliance on firewood and kerosene.
