Price of Major Food Items in Nigeria Declines in November 2025, Providing Relief to Households

A report by the Nation Bureau of Statistics in November 2025 revealed a decline in the prices of key food items in Nigeria. The average price of 1kg of local rice fell by 5.00% year-on-year to 1,861.95 in November 2025.

Similarly, the average price of 1kg of brown beans dropped by 43.14% year-on-year to 1,547.03, and the price of 1kg of white garri fell by 32.00% to 819.70. Additionally, the average price of 1kg of tomato decreased by 15.57% to 1,243.02, and the price of 1kg of onion fell by 29.03% to 1,332.77.

However, the average price of 1 liter of palm oil increased by 1.70% to 2,508.73. The report highlighted variations in prices across states and geopolitical zones, with different regions experiencing different price trends.
