UI Don Trains Journalists on Solutions Reporting

Dr. Ridwan Kolawole, a lecturer at the University of Ibadan, conducted training for journalists on solutions reporting, advocating for a shift towards highlighting solutions rather than just problems.

The training, in collaboration with the Solutions Journalism Network, aimed to encourage Nigerian journalists to address social issues with evidence-based reporting. Dr.

Kolawole discussed the four pillars of solutions journalism: responsibility, evidence, insight, and hope. Participants explored how responses to social problems can be improved through rigorous reporting.
