Nigeria's NUPRC Aims to Boost Crude Oil Production to 1M Barrels/Day - Strategic Milestone Achieved!

The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) aims to increase Nigeria's crude oil production to one million barrels per day within 12 months. Engr Gbenga Komolafe, the Commission's Chief Executive, announced this ambitious program as part of efforts to enhance the nation's revenue profile.

To achieve this goal, Nigeria is focusing on removing entry barriers, accelerating production through bid rounds, and enforcing operational regulations like the Drill Drop policy. The recent successful execution of the first licensing round under the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) 2021 is seen as a significant milestone towards achieving increased crude oil production, showcasing Nigeria's commitment to maximizing its hydrocarbon potential.
