Protest Rocks APC Secretariat Over Ekiti Primary Disqualification

A protest rocked the APC Secretariat in Abuja as members from Ekiti State demonstrated against the disqualification of businessman and politician Kayode Ojo from the forthcoming governorship primary. The protest, mainly led by women, condemned Ojo's disqualification and rejected the plan to impose a consensus candidate.

Ojo, a long-time player in Ekiti politics, has clashed with the APC before. The APC had adopted Governor Biodun Oyebanji as its consensus candidate for the 2026 Ekiti State governorship election.

The party announced a switch from state primaries to direct primaries in its decision. Additionally, Mr.

Atinuk Omolayo voluntarily withdrew from the race and endorsed Oyebanji as the consensus choice.
