APC Affirms Oyebanji as Consensus Candidate for 2026 Ekiti Governorship Amidst Protests

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has confirmed Oyebanji as the consensus candidate for the 2026 Ekiti Governorship Election. This decision was made during a meeting in Ekiti State, supported by key figures like Opeyemi Bamidele and Stephen Aribasoy.

However, protests erupted at the APC national secretariat in Abuja led by Kayode Ojo's supporters, rejecting the imposition of a consensus candidate and chanting in favor of Ojo. The party members, mostly women, displayed placards expressing their dissatisfaction with the decision.

Despite the protests, APC stands by Oyebanji's leadership style and achievements in Ekiti.
