Protesters Demand NASS Intervention in Rivers Crisis at APC Secretariat

A coalition of civil society groups and media professionals protested at the APC Secretariat in Abuja, calling for urgent National Assembly intervention in the political crisis in Rivers State. The protesters accused the River State House of Assembly of losing credibility and legitimacy, alleging an attempt to impeach Governor Nyesom Wike.

They criticized the alleged misuse of constituency funds and luxury spending by some lawmakers. The Chief Judge of Rivers State rejected a request to set up a probe panel.

The protesters vowed to continue until the National Assembly intervenes.
