ProvidusUnity Bank and gener8tor Launch Startup Fund

ProvidusUnity Bank has announced a partnership with the U.S.-based venture firm gener8tor to enhance startup financing in Nigeria. This initiative, known as the "lightning round," is designed to connect selected Nigerian founders with local and international investors.

Scheduled for July 15, 2026, the program will provide startups the opportunity to pitch directly to investors in 15-minute virtual meetings. Ernest Elu, head of business development at ProvidusUnity Bank, stated that access to capital remains one of the biggest challenges for entrepreneurs in Nigeria.

The partnership aims to create a platform that connects promising Nigerian founders with the necessary support to scale their businesses. The initiative will focus on high-growth sectors, including fintech, healthtech, manufacturing, and artificial intelligence, while also welcoming small and medium-sized enterprises across various industries.

The program reflects a commitment to building an equitable ecosystem that drives capital access for underrepresented entrepreneurs in Nigeria.
