Ex-Air Canada Pilot Arrested for Flying with Fake License

Geoffrei Wall, a former pilot for Air Canada, was taken into custody on June 1 following an investigation that revealed he operated approximately 900 domestic and international flights from 2009 to 2025 without the required captain-level certification. The investigation, initiated by Peel Region Police's Project Icarus, uncovered inconsistencies in Wall's licensing records, prompting Air Canada to notify authorities.

Despite his promotion to pilot command in 2009, Wall had obtained an Airline Transport Pilot License, which is mandatory for captains, through misrepresentation of his qualifications. He reportedly earned close to CAD 3 million in total salary during his tenure.

Wall faces seven criminal charges, including fraud over CAD 5,000, two counts of uttering forged documents, and three counts of possession of counterfeit documents. His court appearance is scheduled for June 29, 2026.

Air Canada stated that Wall's certification as a commercial pilot met the necessary requirements and that safety was not compromised during his employment.
