Ali Ndume Calls for Better Salaries for Nigerian Military Personnel

Former Senator Ali Ndume has advised the new Chief of Defence Staff, Lt. Gen.

Olufemi Oluyede, and other service chiefs to advocate for improved salaries for Nigerian military personnel. Ndume emphasized the importance of better remuneration to enhance the morale of the armed forces in tackling security challenges like insurgency and banditry.

He highlighted the need for the military budget to be prioritized and aligned with the salaries of neighboring West African countries. Ndume pointed out the disparity in salaries, with Nigerian soldiers earning significantly less than their counterparts in countries like Ghana, South Africa, Egypt, and Kenya.
