Qatar's Madibo Banned Five Matches for Tackle on Kone

Assim Madibo, a midfielder for Qatar, has been handed a five-match ban by FIFA after a horror tackle on Canada's Ismael Kone during a World Cup qualifying match. The incident occurred in the 51st minute, leading to a straight red card for Madibo and contributing to Qatar's 6-0 loss to Canada in Vancouver.

Kone suffered a broken leg due to the tackle and underwent surgery for a tibia fracture. Following the match, Madibo expressed his apologies and visited Kone in the hospital to offer support.

Qatar's sport minister also received a standing ovation from fans during the match. The disciplinary committee confirmed the ban on Wednesday, which will end Madibo's involvement in Qatar's remaining World Cup fixtures.

This incident overshadowed Canada's first World Cup win, which was already affected by several injury issues.
