Odoemena Critiques APC Governors' Opposition to Wike

Elias Odoemena, the Convener of the Igbo Union, criticized the Progressive Governors’ Forum, led by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma, for its opposition to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike. Odoemena recalled a time when the governors benefited from Wike's support, particularly during the 2023 presidential election, where he played a crucial role in helping the party retain power.

He questioned the governors' current stance against Wike, suggesting that their fear of him is rooted in their inability to govern effectively. Odoemena stated that if governors manage their states well, they would earn the people's support.

He expressed his support for Wike in this instance, emphasizing that the governors' previous reliance on him contrasts sharply with their current opposition to the Rainbow Coalition, which poses a significant threat to their political standing ahead of the upcoming general elections.
