Igbokwe Urges Wike to Clarify Coalition Plans with APC Governors

Joe Igbokwe, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has called on Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory Minister, to engage with APC governors regarding his proposed Rainbow Coalition, which aims to garner support for President Bola Tinubu's re-election in 2027. Igbokwe made this statement during an interview on TVC’s ‘This Morning Show’ on Wednesday, in response to tensions between Wike and the APC governors concerning the initiative.

Hope Uzodimma, the chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum and Governor of Imo State, indicated that the governors would not endorse any political arrangement that could jeopardize the APC or Tinubu's re-election efforts. Wike, in a separate interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time, defended his support for Tinubu, asserting that it did not equate to abandoning his political party or agreeing to exclude other parties from fielding candidates.

Igbokwe emphasized the importance of Wike as a political stakeholder and suggested that the disagreement should be resolved through dialogue rather than public disputes.
