Rangers Denies Moses Simon's Ethnic Bias Claims

Rangers International Football Club has firmly denied allegations made by Super Eagles winger Moses Simon regarding ethnic bias in their recruitment process. In a statement released by the club's Chief Executive Officer, Amobi Ezeaku, it was clarified that Simon's claims stemmed from his experience during a three-month trial with the club, where he felt overlooked due to not being of Igbo descent.

The club asserted that it does not discriminate based on ethnicity, tribe, religion, or place of origin, emphasizing that recruitment decisions are based solely on football ability, character, discipline, and commitment. Rangers highlighted their long-standing history of inclusivity and meritocracy, stating that thousands of players have passed through their ranks, with contracts awarded based on performance rather than ethnic background.

Simon, who began his career at GBS Academy and moved to Ajax in 2013, has made significant contributions to Nigerian football, including nearly 100 caps for the national team since his debut in 2015.
