Nigerian House of Representatives Re-enacts Budgets to Streamline Processes

The Nigerian House of Representatives is working to streamline budget processes by repealing and re-enacting the 2024-2025 budgets to enhance transparency and accountability. This move, supported by President Bola Tinubu, aims to align Nigeria's budgeting with global best practices.

The re-enactment is expected to reduce fiscal confusion, improve resource allocation, and enhance project outcomes. Led by representatives like Philip Agbes and Abubakar Bichi, the legislative action is set to establish a single national budget cycle starting from March 31, 2026.

The House has approved the extension of the implementation of the 2025 budget until March 31, 2026, following the passage of the repeal and re-enactment bill.
