Real Madrid Signs Marc Cucurella from Chelsea for €55M

Real Madrid has officially announced the signing of Spanish defender Marc Cucurella from Chelsea for a transfer fee reported to be €55 million (approximately £63.8 million). The 27-year-old left-back will join the club on a six-year contract that extends until June 30, 2032.

Cucurella, who previously played for Chelsea after joining from Brighton in 2022, has a background in La Liga, having come through the academy of Barcelona and also played for Getafe. His move to Real Madrid comes as the club's president, Florentino Perez, was re-elected earlier in June, following two seasons without winning a major trophy.

The club is also looking to strengthen its squad further, with links to Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konaté and Inter Milan's Denzel Dumfries. Chelsea finished 10th in the Premier League last season, marking a disappointing campaign, which included the decision to sack coach Enzo Maresca in January.
