FG, EFCC Partner to Invest Recovered Assets in Education

The Federal Government of Nigeria, in collaboration with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has reaffirmed its commitment to transforming recovered assets from financial crimes into investments in education. During a formal handover ceremony in Abuja, Dr.

Maruf Tunji Alausa, the Minister of Education, highlighted that these recovered assets will be deployed across educational institutions nationwide. The EFCC, led by Mr.

Ola Olukoyede, transferred various educational resources, including 501 double-decker bed frames and 939 mattresses, as part of its largest anti-cybercrime operation. The initiative aims to improve learning infrastructure, expand access to quality education, and create opportunities for Nigerian children and young people.

The recovered funds will also support the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFund), enabling 1.4 million students to access higher education. The partnership reflects the government's resolve to ensure that children and young people, who are often victims of financial crime, benefit from these recovered assets.
