Olokoro Development Trust Fund Launched for Community Growth

The Olokoro Development Trust Fund (ODTF) was inaugurated to establish a governance-driven institution aimed at sustainable development in Olokoro. This initiative, inspired by the philanthropy of Engr.

Oyibo Thompson during his 80th birthday celebrations, seeks to ensure that community development is not reliant on individual leaders but is sustained through strong institutions. The inaugural Board Induction, Governance and Strategic Planning Workshop held in Umuahia focused on creating a governance framework that guarantees continuity and accountability.

Participants, including members of the Board of Trustees, traditional rulers, and community stakeholders, unanimously agreed to prioritize governance as the cornerstone of the Trust Fund. They adopted principles such as transparency, ethical leadership, and community ownership, and established the Governance Charter as the foundational framework for managing the Trust Fund.

The ODTF aims to serve as a permanent institution that improves the quality of life for present and future generations in Olokoro.
