Rema, whose real name is Divine Ikubor, has been confirmed to headline the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Los Angeles on June 12, as announced by FIFA. This event will showcase a star-studded lineup, including pop superstar Katy Perry, Grammy-winning rapper Future, South African singer Tyla, Brazilian artist Anitta, and Thai rapper Lisa from Blackpink.

The 2026 World Cup will be notable for its unprecedented format, featuring three separate opening ceremonies across the host nations of the United States, Mexico, and Canada, rather than a single event. The celebrations will commence on June 11 in Mexico City, where Tyla will perform alongside Latin icons J Balvin, Mana, Alejandro Fernandez, and Belinda.

The tournament will run from June 11 to July 19, 2026, and will be the largest in history, featuring 48 teams and 104 matches. The final is scheduled to take place at MetLife Stadium on July 19.
