Rema to Headline FIFA World Cup 2026 Opening Ceremony

Rema has been confirmed to headline the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup 2026 in Los Angeles, scheduled for June 12. The announcement was made by FIFA, which stated that Rema will perform alongside a global cast that includes Katy Perry, Tyla, Anitta, and Lisa.

The tournament will commence with three ceremonies across the host nations, starting on June 11 at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. The ceremony in Toronto will feature performances by Michael Bublé, Alanis Morissette, Alessia Cara, and Nora Fatehi, as Canada hosts its own ceremony.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino confirmed these details on FIFA's official website. Rema's performance follows his notable appearance at the 2023 Ballon d'Or ceremony and marks a continuation of Nigeria's influence in global music, following compatriot Davido's historic performance at the 2022 FIFA World Cup final.

The tournament will be the largest yet, featuring 48 teams and 104 matches across the United States, Mexico, and Canada, concluding at MetLife Stadium on July 19.
