Remo Stars Relegated from NPFL After Tough Season

Remo Stars has officially been relegated from the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) after concluding the season in 16th place with a total of 47 points. The club's relegation was confirmed following a 3-1 defeat to Wikki Tourists, where Victor Mbaoma initially put Remo Stars ahead in the first half.

However, goals from Meyiwa and Oritseweyimi allowed Wikki Tourists to equalize and ultimately secure the win deep into stoppage time. Remo Stars' relegation marks the third time in the club's history that they have been demoted, and they will compete in the second tier of Nigerian football next season.

The club's struggles this season were compounded by fan violence and stadium renovations that forced them to play home matches at MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta. They finished the season with a goal difference of -5, compared to Kwara United's -4, sealing their fate.
