Remo Stars Relegated from NPFL, Set Unwanted Record

Remo Stars confirmed their relegation from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) on the final day of the 2025/26 season, finishing in 17th place with 47 points after a 1-1 draw against Bendel Insurance at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City. This outcome made Remo Stars the first club in NPFL history to win the league title and suffer relegation in the following season.

The team, managed by Usman Abdallah, ended the season with a total of 38 matches played. Other clubs relegated alongside Remo Stars include El Kanemi Warriors, Bayelsa United, and Wikki Tourists, while clubs like Lago Inter, Lago Doma United, and Ranchers Bees will replace them in the NPFL next season.
