Armed Herdsmen Displace 1,000 Families in Taraba, Catholic Church Raises Alarm

In Taraba State, armed herdsmen have displaced over 1,000 families, occupying farms and settlements, causing devastation and abandonment of rural areas. The Catholic Church in Wukari raised alarm over the violence, with Fr. John Laikel highlighting the continuous attacks despite government assurances.

The Tiv Youth Development Forum urged the deployment of additional security personnel to prevent further bloodshed. Fr. Georg Dogo lamented the indifference of security operatives towards impending attacks, leading to loss of lives and destruction of property.
