FRSC Enhances Road Safety Initiatives Under Shehu Moham

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), led by Marshal Shehu Moham, is undergoing significant reforms to improve road safety in Nigeria. The agency's initiatives include a nationwide special patrol operation from May 25 to May 31, 2026, coinciding with the Eid el-Kabir festival, aimed at managing traffic and ensuring safety.

The operation will deploy 30,000 regular and special marshals across high-risk routes such as Abuja, Kaduna, Kano, Sagamu, Lagos, Akwanga, Lafia, and Makurdi. The FRSC is also enhancing its operational strategies through inter-agency collaboration and the use of technology, including improved crash data management systems and a biometric driver licensing process.

Marshal Moham has emphasized the importance of professionalism and ethical conduct among personnel, declaring 2026 as a year for renewed commitment to service delivery. The agency is investing in leadership development and mentorship programs to adapt to the evolving challenges of road safety in Nigeria.
