Gombe Rep Yaya Tongo Laid to Rest Amid Tributes

Yaya Tongo, a member of the House of Representatives representing Gombe Kwami Funakay Federal Constituency, was laid to rest on Saturday in Tongo Village, Funakay Local Government Area, Gombe State. Governor Muhammadu Yahaya expressed condolences to Tongo's family and constituents, describing the late lawmaker's death as a significant loss to both the constituency and the nation.

Yahaya highlighted Tongo's dedication as a grassroots politician and his immense contributions to the development and welfare of the people. The burial ceremony was attended by various dignitaries, including Speaker Tajudeen Abba and Chief Whip Usman Kumo from the House of Representatives, as well as Senator Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo and Speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly Abubakar Luggerewo.

Deputy Governor Manassah Jatau referred to Tongo as a true representative of the people, noting his selfless service and humanitarian interventions that empowered the community. Tongo's legacy is expected to continue influencing future generations.
