NSCIA Rejects Trump's Label for Nigeria, Calls It Politically Motivated

The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) vehemently rejects the designation of Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern by US President Donald Trump, labeling it as politically motivated and misleading. NSCIA's Secretary-General, Ishaq Oloyede, emphasized that Nigeria's security challenges are complex and not rooted in religion, criticizing the CPC label as a cynical political act.

They accuse certain US politicians and Nigerian separatists of pushing false narratives to enable Christian genocide and Islamophobia. NSCIA calls on the Nigerian government to protect citizens and hold actors accountable.

The African Union Commission reaffirmed its support for Nigeria's sovereignty and religious freedom.
