Boko Haram Attack Kills General Oseni Braimah in Borno

Boko Haram executed a coordinated midnight attack on a military base in Benisheikh, Borno State, on Thursday, resulting in the death of General Oseni Braimah, the late commander of the 29 Task Force Brigade. The assault occurred around 12:30 AM and involved multiple military positions, overwhelming troops and causing significant damage.

Eyewitness accounts indicated that the insurgents attacked from various angles, leading to a chaotic situation filled with gunfire and explosions. Despite military reports claiming that troops repelled the attack, soldiers on the ground reported heavy losses and a loss of confidence among the ranks.

The attack lasted approximately 1.5 hours, with several explosions recorded during the exchange. General Braimah reportedly died due to a faulty mine while attempting to resist the ambush.

Concerns were raised about the state of military equipment and maintenance, suggesting that operational readiness may have been compromised. This incident underscores the persistent threat posed by insurgent groups in the region.
