EFCC Declares Ex-Minister Timipre Sylva Wanted Over Alleged Financial Irregularities

The EFCC declared ex-Minister Timipre Sylva wanted for his alleged role in dishonest conversations involving $14,859,257 linked to a refinery project in Bayelsa State. The funds were reportedly part of the money injected by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) into the Atlant International Refinery and Petrochemical Limited.

Sylva, who served as Minister of State for Petroleum Resources from 2019 to 2023, denied the allegations, claiming they were politically motivated. The EFCC also arrested other individuals connected to the project for financial irregularities.
