Rhodes-Vivour Advocates Opposition Unity Against Tinubu

Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the 2027 Lagos governorship election, has called for a unified opposition to effectively challenge President Bola Tinubu. Speaking on Politics Today, Rhodes-Vivour described Tinubu as a formidable adversary, asserting that it would be challenging for him and the All Progressives Congress (APC) to secure victory in Lagos due to their disconnect from the people.

He expressed a desire for the opposition to unite, stating, “In an ideal world, I would have wished that the opposition sticks together.” Rhodes-Vivour is campaigning on a Lagos-first agenda, aiming to appeal to voters across party lines. He urged those disillusioned with the current state of Lagos, including APC supporters, to consider his candidacy.

Additionally, he referenced former Governor Lateef Jakande, who had no prior governance experience but is regarded as one of the best governors in Lagos history, to argue that experience should not be the sole criterion for leadership.
