Gbadamosi Backs Rhodes-Vivour for Lagos Deputy Role

Babatunde Gbadamosi, the Deputy Governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Lagos State, has articulated his reasons for accepting the role of running mate to the party’s governorship candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, for the 2027 election. Gbadamosi responded to inquiries from Lagos residents questioning why he, a seasoned politician, would choose the deputy position instead of pursuing the governorship.

He believes that younger Nigerians should be empowered to lead, citing historical examples of effective youthful leadership in Nigeria, such as Chief Obafemi Awolowo and Anthony Enahoro. Gbadamosi pointed out that Lagos’ first military governor, Mobolaji Johnson, was only 31 when he took office, and he surrounded himself with experienced advisers.

He expressed confidence in Rhodes-Vivour’s capabilities, stating that their partnership represents a blend of youthful energy and experienced wisdom. Gbadamosi urged Lagos residents to support the Rhodes-Vivour-Gbadamosi ticket, asserting that the time for youth leadership is now.
