Kano Governor Ganduje Ends Political Rivalry, Welcomes Former Governor Yusuf to APC

Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje declares an end to political rivalry within the APC party, describing the defection of former Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf as a major victory for unity and development in the state. Ganduje emphasized the party's support for Governor Yusuf's success and outlined plans to renew the APC leadership structure through temporary arrangements.

The governor highlighted the importance of focusing on governance, progress, and improving the welfare of the people. Despite the defection, Ganduje noted that no written directive from the national leadership had been received, and the party traditionally gives sitting governors the first right of refusal for re-election.

He expressed readiness to work with Governor Yusuf to achieve their objectives. The relationship between APC leaders and the Kwankwasiyya movement, led by Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, was also mentioned, with the possibility of reconciliation.

Governor Yusuf formally defected to the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) earlier in the week, sparking reactions across Kano's political landscape.
