River State Governor Siminalayi Fubara Sundai attended a church service marking the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day in Port Harcourt. Accompanied by Deputy Ngozi Odu, the governor's appearance comes as the River State House of Assembly initiates fresh impeachment proceedings against him.

This marks the third impeachment attempt against Fubara in less than three years. Despite the political tensions, Governor Fubara has remained silent on the allegations of gross misconduct leveled against him.
