Rivers Assembly Exposes Plot to Stop Governor Fubara's Impeachment Process

The Rivers State House of Assembly has raised concerns over clandestine efforts by unnamed individuals to obstruct the ongoing impeachment process against Governor Fubara and Deputy Governor Ngozi Odu. The Assembly received credible intelligence about attempts to obtain an ex parte order from the River State High Court outside Port Harcourt to illegally restrain lawmakers.

Chairman of the House Committee, Alabo Georg, warned that such actions could subvert the constitution. Speaker Martin Chike Amaewhule reaffirmed the Assembly's commitment to upholding the rule of law and democratic processes.
