Rivers Emergency Rule: Ibas Gets Fresh Message Ahead of LG Election

The National Patriotic Front (NPF) has praised Vice Admiral Ibas for restoring peace and promoting transparent governance in Rivers State under emergency rule. The group commended Ibas ahead of the upcoming local government election on August 30, 2025.

Governor Siminalayi Fubara and other officials were suspended five months ago, leading to Ibas' intervention. Improved security, joint patrols, and key infrastructure projects were highlighted as achievements of Ibas' administration.

The NPF emphasized the importance of stability for a credible grassroots poll. The group also lauded Ibas for pushing ahead with projects like the reconstruction of the Rivers State complex and the completion of the Mother and Child Hospital.

The House Leader and the House Representatives Committee on Rivers State have pledged support for Ibas' stewardship and democratic restoration. President Bola Ahmed had previously appointed Vice Admiral Ibas as the Sole Administrator of Rivers State to oversee the local government election.
