Rivers Emergency Rule: Group Hails Ibas, Criticises Fubara, “From Chaos to Stability”

The National Good Governance Advocates (NGGA) praised Vice Admiral Ibas for his transformative leadership and meticulous stewardship in Rivers State, following the declaration of a state of emergency by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The group criticized Governor Siminalayi Fubara's administration for plunging the state into chaos and abusing constitutional norms.

NGGA highlighted the remarkable transformation Rivers State has undergone under Ibas' leadership, with increased stability, security, and public confidence. The report also commended Ibas for his commitment to democratic restoration and infrastructure development, including the release of funds for local government elections and the Ring Road dualization project.

NGGA vehemently refuted allegations of contract inflation and treasury looting against Ibas, accusing Fubara of orchestrating a smear campaign. The group urged continued reforms and called on President Tinubu to closely monitor Fubara's conduct.

NGGA concluded by thanking President Tinubu for his timely intervention and praising Ibas for laying the foundation.
