Rivers Lawmakers Disclose Reasons for Impeachment Move Against Governor Odu

Lawmakers in Rivers State House of Assembly have revealed the motives behind the impeachment process initiated against Governor Ngozi Odu, alleging her attempts to undermine the legislature. The lawmakers, including Looloo Opuend and Emilia Lucky Amadi, accused the governor of sponsoring the move and violating the constitution.

Baril Nwakoh from Khana constituency also accused the governor of gross misconduct, including unauthorized spending exceeding 800 billion and withholding statutory funds. The situation reflects a political crisis in the state, with some lawmakers advocating for a peaceful resolution while others push for impeachment.
